Gauthier Grumier, one of the most successful epee fencers of our time, will be coming to Burbank in December to conduct a series of epee training classes. All fencers with at least 1 year of competitive experience are invited to attend.
Some of Grumier’s achievements include:
- Winner of 6 World Cups
- Winner of 2 Grands Prix
- Winner of the 2015 European Fencing Championships
- Bronze medalist at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games
- Finished 4 competitive seasons ranked #1 in the world
Grumier holds a Maitre d’Armes degree for fencing instruction.
Classes will be held at Swords Fencing Studio, 134 S. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, California, from Dec. 15 to 23, and will focus on footwork, technique, and drills, along with some supervised bouting. Fencers born in 2006 or later should sign up for the youth classes; fencers born in 2005 or earlier should sign up for the advanced classes. No beginners please, as these sessions are geared to advancing each fencers’ technique and ability.
Each class (or “camp”) is limited to 22 fencers. Sign up on AskFred (see links below), or pay Swords Fencing Studio directly with PayPal at swordsinc@yahoo.com and you will be moved to the paid list. Payment must be received for a fencer to be considered registered. If a class is full, fencers can be added to a waiting list by emailing swordsinc@yahoo.com. Refunds will be processed up to the Monday before each class, minus a $20 administration fee.
